Queen of Spades - Final by destinare Queen of Spades - Final by destinare
So, this is the main reason why I haven't updated anything in forever and a day. This was done completely by hand save the plain background colour.

Thank you very much ~annemarie for all of your help while my main computer is still down. :hug:

This is Vaeramae set in a 1930s, 1940s ish setting for an AU that :iconannemarie: and I have been fiddling with on and off. It's been a lot of fun working on but there are other projects that are perhaps more pressing than this AU. ^^;

I'm rather pleased with the way this came out. The flat background colour was added due to the complications with some of the colour smearing on the actual paper itself. It's kinda hard not getting that all over the place. ^^;

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this.

Drawn with mechanical .5 lead mechanical pencil
Inked in with felt tip pens and traditional calligraphy ink
Colured in with Prismacolour coloured pencils
Scanned in and fixed up with Photoshop.

All of the WIPs can be found at the following links (in order of progress)

I still love this one. It was very cool to get to see the lines too. :) I got to looking at that hand on her hip and you did really well with drawing that. I still just love the bg detail.

I had a lot of fun with this one. I would have to say QoS was when I realized that my style had changed. Almost drastically, I would say. What I loved the most was the art nouveau feel to this. I really want to do more art like this.

Thank you. ^_^ It wasn't until I was shown a technique with blending pencils did I really start like using coloured pencils.

Yay, it's finally done~! Now you can move the other WIP's to your scraps and post links to show people how it all came together. :)

I really do enjoy how you blended the flesh tones and the blue of her dress. The art nouveau background is an added touch that pops the picture out more, and the dice and cards (both red) at the corners contrast nicely with the dress.

That is a really good idea! Thanks! :hug:

Her dress and that crescent there in the background gave me the most trouble. Her skin was actually quite easy if a bit time consuming. I'm glad you like it and thanks again for your help. ^_^
